I want to show ads on my blog , how can i do that ? (without wordpress and blogger )

PS – I will require a software that can help me build a website as i am not an expert in html or any other .

You can add google adsense to self hosted blogs. Once set up with hostgators one click install all you have to do is add the ads html to a text side bar widget.

I was hoping someone can help me with this little issue I am having.

I have a hosting account with Hostgator and I have a few subdomains as well as my main domain name within my account. The majority of them are already websites at the moment.

What I want to know is where do I add the directory to add any Facebook iFrames App’s I might complete? The reason I ask is that I have a lot of wordpress sites and I cannot work out where to add the folder to keep these iFrame Apps within the wordpress directory. I’m not sure if it is even possible?

Also I Would like to know if it is easier to just use a new domain PER iFrame App o rif I can keep multiple iFrame Apps inside one folder under different names (to create a different url link)

Also I would like one of my static websites to show a wordpress iFrame App, is that possible or do I need to buy a new domain and add a directory to that domain and link it to the page instead?

I hope this makes sense, I have been trying all day but to no avail so I would love it if someone could help me out here.

an iframe on facebook allows you to show a web page from your site on wordpress

you create what ever you want to show on your facebook with in your hostgator

you then tell the iframe where the page is on your hosting account

the facebook iframe will then show what ever is on that page.

basic html NOT facebook iframe – same principle though

and how much clients i would gain on a reselling account? because i know if u get to much traffice u have to move to Vps and than higher to dedicate server

DONT DO IT!!!!
Reselling host space is not going to make you any money, and IS going to cause you a ton of headache.
The only reason to resell hosting space is so that you can offer clients a package deal. Even then, it is FAR easier on you in the long run to simply charge a setup fee and get them going with a hosting service.

It should be the client / hosts problem is the hosting goes down. If you take on reseller status, and the host has issues, YOU are going to get the call. Sure.. you can bounce it, but it’s still time out of your day to deal with problems that are not yours, and are not making you any money. The only way you can make any money is to charge more than the going rate for hosting… right? I mean. fine you get a some site space for a month and resell it for what? maybe ? It takes a LOT of ten dollar bills per month to make a living. You will need to have like 300 to 700 clients to make it worth the bother.

Sorry. Concentrate your efforts elsewhere is my advice.

Also, how do I add more pages to my wordpress website? It seems like I only have the one page and thats mysite.com/test I went to the add pages bar on wordpress and added some but when I click on them they dont take me anywhere. Is there a step that i’m missing?

I am kind of confused with your question. I think that I have the answer you need. You need to create a wordpress file for mysite.com. You can then download the theme you used for the mysite.com/test and then upload to the mysite.com.

Talking with HostMonster about it proved unhelpful (no doubt they’re mad about losing a customer) so how should I do it? Unlock each domain, let it expire, and then re-register through the new registration? HostMonster said to unlock it and give the new register the EPP Code. Is that right or will there be a period of downtime with that method? I want zero downtime if at all possible. Also, should I let each domain expire or register with the new registration company before that happens and use the EPP Code to do that?

I guess I should have given you a hint that you shouldn’t be talking to your current registrar if they give you enough control to handle all the unlocking etc on your own. Only if they don’t you have a need to talk to them.

I read something in your question that made me jump. Did you say “let it expire”? That is absolutely NOT advisable. The process of domain expiration and re-registration goes through a series of stages and you’ll lose control over your domain name for a good amount of time before it becomes available again. And what’s more? If someone else has an eye on your domain name, then the second it becomes available for re-registration they might grab it and you’d lose it for ever. So its NEVER safe to rely on expiration and re-registration. Don’t do it. You can safely transfer it to any domain registrar of your choice and your new domain registrar should be able to give you good instructions to get it done. For netfirms, this is the process:

You should contact their email/phone support if you get stuck somewhere and they should be able to guide you through the entire process.

There surely will be some amount of downtime. (You’d have to transfer the domain name, then setup your new website at gator). If you do it right it can be very less. I do such activities either early mornings (5am-6am) or if I am awake at around 2-3am, then because that is the time when my websites don’t have much traffic so no one really notices it.

PS: Don’t forget to use the Gator coupons (HOSTGATOR25OFFER for 25% off or MONTH1FREE gets your first month at 1 cent though the first one saves you a lot more money overall), they give you a good discount.

But, i want a good host to get as many features for my money as i can. From the hosts i’ve seen, Lypha and Hostgator have been the best, but from looking elsewhere i’ve seen others, such as www.dotster.com.

I want to build a website. I already bought the domain off of godaddy.com 6 months ago and never did anything with it. Once I finish the website I’m building on dreamweaver CS3, I’m going to go to Hostgator.com to host the website, With its cheapest plan (i think its 7 dollars a month).

Question #1: Is that a good idea? Any suggestions?

Question #2, Is Dreamwaver a good program to build a site in? Because I want it to look a lot like FilmCow.com
Because I want to build it on a PROGRAM, not a SITE.

Question #3, Can iWeb build a site like this? (now that I recently purchased a mac mini and can use iWeb).

#2 – if you already have it, but I wouldn’t spend on it. I build sites using Edit Plus (because I have it – Notepad++ is just as good and it’s free).

#3 – Any text editor can build any site (using a graphics editor for the graphics, of course).
